Shin Yang To Own Account

Shin Yang Shipyard of Miri Sarawak East Malaysia, builds for clients and for their related operational firms. They have recently delivered a good-looking boat, the Danum 79, to their own account for operations with their United Arab Emirates-based firm.

A pair of Cummins KTA38-M2 engines each powers the 37-meter by 11.4-meter boat producing 1359 hp at 1900 RPM. A pair of 150 kW gensets meets electrical needs and a separate engine is provided for the bow thruster.

With a molded depth of 4.95-meters, the hull contains tankage for 80 cubic meters of fresh water and 280 cubic meters of fuel. Accommodation in the foc’sle and deckhouse is provided for up to 14 crewmembers. Designed by Connan Wu & Associates the Danum 79 is NK classed for Unrestricted Navigation.

On deck a double drum towing winch and a single tugger winch are provided. A crane launched rescue boat is stowed on the first of three deck levels.
