San Jorge I
Celebration for the new vessel.

The port of Mar del Plata, located about 400 km south of Buenos Aires, has a long history as a center for commercial fishing. (www.mardelplata.com/). The shipyard Astillero Mar del Plata has recently added another fishing vessel to the extensive fleet operating from the port. Built to a local design, ASTMAR FB-20, the new trawler is 20.82 by 6.4-meters with a molded depth of 3.15 meters. The vessel has accommodation for up to 12 crew members and a hold capacity for 80 tons of fish.

Named the BP San Jorge I, the new vessel was delivered to her owners BP San Jorge SA on January 26, 2008.
