C & G Boatworks Continues Crewboat Innovation

Following a spectacular year of crewboat production in 2007 C & G Boat Works Inc. of Mobile Alabama will be launching some interesting boats in 2008. One of these that will be worth noting will be their 175 by 34-foot crew boat for Graham Gulf Inc.

To be fitted with a dynamic positioning system, DP-1 from Kongsberg, the vessel will be powered by a quartet of Cummins KTA50 mains delivering 1800 HP each at 1900 RPM and spinning 48-inch props through ZF4650 rears with 2.5:1 ratios.

A retractable Thrustmaster TH250RT bow thruster will be powered by a Cummins 6CT8.3DM while a pair of 85 kW Cummins 6BT5.9DM/Newage will meet the vessel’s electrical power requirements. Delivery of the 7200 HP vessel is anticipated for September 2008.
