New Docking Tug for Peru

In Peru, as in ports around the world, larger container ships are stimulating the building of more effective docking tugs. Agencia Maritima Cosmos has recently taken delivery of an 80.5-foot (24.55 meter) azimuthing stern drive tug, R/M Cabo Blanco, to work in the port of Callo near Lima. With a beam of 31.8 feet (9.7 meters) the Z-drive tug is powered by a pair of Cummins KTA50-M2 main engines rated for continuous duty at 1600 HP each at 1800 RPM.

The builder, SIMA shipyard, is one of the principal shipyards in South America with capacities for a wide range of vessels sizes along with advanced technology and ISO 9000 certification.
