376 August 2006 Zuhai-Built Tanker Registered to Hong Kong Flag
This past May saw the delivery of a 1600 DWT tanker to her owners under the Hong Kong flag. At just under 50 meters the 49.98-meter ship carries a beam of exactly 15 meters and a six-meter molded depth and has a displacement of 2800 tons. Powered by a pair of Cummins KTA19 main engines each generating 600 hp at 1800 RPM, the ship cruises at eight knots over its assigned waters of Hong Kong, Macao and coastal China. With tankage for 20 tons of fresh-water and 50 tons of diesel-fuel the ship has a six-day endurance. Two 75 kW generators sets and one 24 kW harbour set provide electrical power for the vessel. Two discharge pumps have a capacity of 550 cubic meters per hour. On deck a hydraulic crane capable of lifting up to two tons with its 13.3-meter boom handles hoses.
