355 Crewboat Rusillah Delivered to Sabah
In late March the aluminum boat builder Penguin Shipyard International of Singapore delivered the 5400-hp 40x7.5-meter crew boat Rusillah 1 to the JCB Company of Sabah in Eastern Malaysia. Four meters longer than the recently delivered Bayu Tiram, the boat has a 97.4 square meter aft cargo deck and seating for up to 70 passengers. A full galley, mess and accommodations are provided for up to 8 crewmembers. The wheelhouse has fore and aft controls with good visibility out to the stern for working under the drilling rigs. A centrally located chart table has curtain track fitted for night use. Forward, two pilot chairs face a clean easy to read control panel that, like the aft control panel, contains gauges and controls for the two auxiliaries and three main engines.
The engines, supplied by Cummins Engine (Singapore), are also larger. The mains are three KTA50 mains each rated for 1800 hp at 1900 RPM. The mains turn three fixed pitch propellers. The auxiliary engines are a pair of Cummins 6CTA8.3 (D)M-powering 99 kw generators. In addition to firefighting capabilities the vessel is equipped with booms for spraying oil disperant.
