Another in Successful Series for Thai Towing Firm

When I reported the mix of tradition and contemporary in the building and repower of the tug Ketsarin #10 last February (see Hotips#288), it was a pleasure to include photos of the good looking boat. Then yesterday, October 12, I met up with her younger sister near the estuary of the Tachine River at Mahachai a few miles west of Bangkok. The Ketsarin #12 was built this year at the S.P. Inter Marine’s own shipyard in Ayuthya on the Chao Phrya river with her Cummins main as original equipment. Naturally I took a few more photos of the Cummins KTA19 M3 powered tug. Her master, Capt. Saroj kindly agreed to fire up her 640 horses and run her out into the river for a couple of quick running shots before he departed to pick up a tow in the Gulf of Thailand. I have copied a couple of these photos here for your interest.
