Kvichak Marine To Deliver Crowther Hull

Similar in design to recent Hawaiian deliveries, the latest 149-passenger whale watch and excursion boat from Kvichak Marine Industries will deliver to a Southern California customer by the end of May. The Crowther-designed 65 by 28-foot vessel is powered by a pair of Cummins KTA19 engines each delivering 700 HP at 2100 RPM to 30-inch Nibral propellers through ZF 350A marine gears with 2.077:1 reduction. This propulsion package is expected to give the boat a speed of 23 knots fully loaded. Electrical needs will be met by a pair of 10 kW generator sets. Kvichak’s successful grandstand seating forward will be featured. The owner’s are planning to do painting and final finishing on their own account following delivery.
