Rodriguez Starts on New Lift Boat

C & S Lift Boats have ordered a 145x110-foot lift boat with a 12-foot molded depth from Rodriguez Boat Builders of Bayou La Batre Alabama. The main engines will be a pair of Cummins KTA38M1s each delivering 1000 HP at 1800 RPM. The vessel’s hydraulic engines will be powered by a pair of KTA19M4 engines each rated for 700 HP at 2100 RPM while electrical demands will be met by a pair of Cummins 6CTA8,3DM engines powering 175 Kw generators.

The boat, designed by A. K. Suda of Metarie, Louisiana, will have jack-up legs 265 feet long with 102- inch diameter. The boat will have a 100 ton and a 50-ton deck crane and will be capable of a 500 ton deck load. Accommodation on the ABS-classed lift boat, to be named “Jacob”, will be provided for 48 people.
