The mains drive through Aquamaster US1201 Z-drives with 1800 mm-diameter nozzles. The first 2400 HP tug achieved a 26.8-ton bollard pull against a 25-ton designed bollard pull. Vessel tankage is provided for 25 tons of fuel, 12 tons of water and 2 tons of lube oil. The Harbour Utility Tug is intended to assist berthing and unberthing of large Naval ships and submarines, docking and undocking of ships, as well as harbour firefighting. Deck equipment includes a 25-ton towing hook, anchor windlass and mooring capstan. Electrical needs are met by a pair of 100 kva, 415V, 3 Phase, 50 Hz diesel powered generator sets.
