Cummins Power for Latest Graham Gulf Inc. Crew Boat

This summer, Graham Gulf Inc. of Bayou La Batre will take delivery of their tenth crew boat. The company fleet ranges from 140 to 155 feet. This latest boat is 155 by 29 feet with a molded depth of 15 feet. With the distinctive raised fo’c’sle styling of Bayou LaBatre’s C& G Boatworks, the boat has cargo capacities equal to many vessels in the 165 to 170-foot class, reports Graham Gulf general manager Mike Dickinson. In addition, the design’s OSV-inspired doghouse aft control station overhangs the 102x25-foot clear aft deck to allow maximum visibility and utilization of the cargo space. Deck cargo capacities are 250 long tons, while tankage includes 35,000 gallons of fuel and 50,000 gallons of water.

Main propulsion power is provided by four Cummins KTA38 M2 engines, each producing 1350 HP in the Heavy Duty rating. The main engines turn into ZF gears with 2.5:1 ratios and swinging over square 47x49-inch four-blade Rice propellers. The new boat, to be named Gulf Spirit is scheduled to deliver to her owners, an associated company to the builders, in late June or early July of this year.
