In 2002 the Zhuhai Shipbuilding Industry Company delivered a number of tugs, including a pair of 26.8 x 8-metre boats to the Big Fair Industrial Limited which acts a broker as well as a tug operator. Main engine towing power for these boats was a pair of Cummins KTA38 M2 engines each rated for 1200 HP at 1800 RPM.
In March of 2003, the yard had another pair of tugs alongside being fitted out for the same broker. These boats, with the same 26.8 by 8-metre hull dimensions are significantly more powerful. With Cummins KTA50 M2 main engines each rated for 1600 HP at 1800 RPM the boats will have a combined 3200 HP. The engines turn ducted propellers through ZF Masson 6:1 gears. The boats waterline length of 24.1 metres and draft of 3.19 metres on a moulded depth of 3.8 metres give them a maximum displacement of 435.04 tonnes.
The boats are equipped with 50-ton braking load electric over hydraulic towing winches. And electro-hydraulic release towing hooks. Electrical power will be provided by a pair of Cummins 6BT5.9-powered 45 Kw generator sets.. The tugs are fitted with fire monitors and meet SOLAS FIFI requirements.
